A 23-year-old was reported in critical condition Tuesday after he was stabbed early Monday morning.
Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said the sheriff’s office received a call at approximately 1:10 a.m. Monday of a possible stabbing in the Walnut Cove area on Northshore Road near West Tawakoni.
“Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male victim with a stab wound to the back,” Meeks said.
He said the victim was taken by ambulance to the Tawakoni Golf Course from where he was flown by Air Evac to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. The sheriff said Tuesday afternoon, he was listed in critical condition.
“The suspect is described as a heavyset subject wearing all black clothing who was described as running into the tree line on the north side of the Walnut Cove bridge,” Meeks said. “No other description was given.
He said deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
“We believe that this was an isolated incident, and our investigation is still continuing. Anyone that possibly saw someone in that area that night or might know of someone in that area that fits the description of our suspect, call contact the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office at 903-453-6800 or the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office South Command Post at 903-447-2408.”
